Miss Wheelchair World
Miss Wheelchair World is an international beauty pageant, founded by The Only One Foundation in 2016.
The current Miss World Wheelchair is Aleksandra Chichikova from Belarus, crowned in October, 2017 in Warsaw, Poland.
HISTORY
Miss Wheelchair World is a pageant founded by the Only One Foundation (Fundacja Jedyna Taka), who organized also Miss Poland Wheelchair in 2016. After four editions of Miss Poland Wheelchair the idea was born to organize something innovatory on a worldwide scale. The Miss Wheelchair World is an event, that will break barriers to disability in the whole world.
The aim of this pageant is to change the image and attitude for people with disabilities! The other purpose is to show the beauty of women on wheelchair. The Foundation remind you that wheelchair is not a constraint impossible to bestride, it is just something additional to the personality. Every singe woman on wheelchair has got her right to be whoever she wants and to feel beautiful.
The goal of Miss Wheelchair World is integration of communities with disabilities from different countries all over the world. Making the contacts much more easier, improving the flow of information between particular countries, taking into account the needs of the disabled in different cultures-these all aspects and much more are the main assumptions arising from the integration of the communities all around the world.
PAGEANT
You can report for the competition if you are at least 18 years old wheelchair woman who holds the certificate of disability.
The candidates selected during the recruitment proceedings in each country. In the countries without national contest, the candidate can apply directly to the world organization. In case more than one candidate from one country is submitted the Organizers observes the right to choose one candidate among the candidates submitted.
The finalist, who wins the aforementioned voting during the Final of the Miss Wheelchair World pageant will receive the title of Miss Popularity.
