Miss Supranational is a beauty pageant founded in 2019 by Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski. The inaugural final was held on Septembre 5, 2009 in Plock, Poland. Oksana Moria of Ukraine was crowned the first ever Miss Supranational.
Miss Supranational was born in 2009, with its first edition held in the city of Płock (Poland). The next two editions continued in this city, and in 2012 the competition travelled to the capital city of Warsaw. In 2013, the pageant went abroad for the first time; being hosted by the city of Minsk in Belarus.
The first Miss Supranational competition came from almost 40 countries around the world, Today after 10 years the number has doubled to more than 80 competitors from every continent.
The 2010 and 2011 editions were also broadcasted live by satellite from Plock but in 2012 the competition changed locations and moved the event to the capital city of Poland, Warsaw. In 2013, with interest growing internationally, the pageant travelled for the first time to another country. The capital city of Belarus, Minsk, played host to a spectacular show which was presented the Global Beauties Award for Best Stage of the year beating the more traditional and established pageants. 2014 contest saw the return of the competition to its roots in Poland and this time the honor went to the city of Krynica –Zdrój.
The World Beauty Association, based in Hong Kong, organized a rival Miss Supranational 2014 pageant in India which could not be held in person due to responses to the West African Ebola virus epidemic. It crowned one candidate, Jennifer Poleo of Venezuela, remotely, and without runners-up, and did not hold any subsequent contests.
The Miss and Mister Supranational 2020 contests were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Anntonia Porsild from Thailand and Nate Crnkovich from the United States to retain their respective titles until then.
