Mrs. Universe

Mrs. Universe is an international, global event for « the most honorable married woman« , founded in 2007. 

The organizer, Mrs. Universe Ltd., also organizes the Mrs. Europe, Grandma Universe, and Children of the Universe pageants.

The current Mrs Universe is Zhuldyz Abdukarimova from Kazakhstan, crowned during a virtual edition due to the Covid19 pandemic.  

HISTORY

Mrs. Universe is a Sofia-based international, global event for « the most honorable married woman », first organized in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2007. The event is open to married, divorced, and widowed women from nations on all continents around the world, who are between the ages of 18 and 55, have a family and career, and are involved in a « significant cause ». 

The organizer, Mrs. Universe Ltd., also organizes the Mrs. Europe, Grandma Universe, and Children of the Universe pageants.

The idea that unites them is the motto « Against violence » which in different years covers different causes.  For example, 2009 was devoted to children and young women who are abandoned or suffer home viuolence. 2010 was devoted to « Women of the world against violence and humand trafficking« . 

The 2020 pageant  due to the pandemic was held online and determined by popular vote alone.

PAGEANT

This competition is open to married woman aged 18 to 55. According the rules, the candidate must have family, her own carrer and to be involved with a signifiant cause in favour of other people.  

The contest takes 7 to 10 days every year. 

The contestants are judged on several criteria :

  • Evening gown
  • National Costume
  • Interview
