Miss Eco International (formerly Miss Eco Universe or Eco Queens) is an international beauty pageant, founded in 2015 by Dr. Amaal Rezk.

 

The current Miss Eco International is Angelina USANOVA from Ukraine, crowned on April 28th, 2024, at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.

HISTORY

Miss Eco International (formerly Eco Queens and Miss Eco Universe) is a beauty contest that is held annually calling delegates from different countries and dependent territories, created in 2015 in order to take care of the planet and promote environmental tourism of each country. Since the debut, Egypt is the host country of this contest.

 

Miss Eco International is a beauty contest that began in 2015 under the name of Eco Queens with the participation of former Miss Earth delegates where the winner was Miss Earth Slovenia, Patricia Peklar. In 2016 she changed her name to Miss Eco Universe to become more famous. From 2017 the contest acquired the name of Miss Eco International.

 

The aim is to raise environmental awareness. The main objective of the contest is to choose the best delegate that is the image of Eco-tourism from around the world and promote the principle of agreement to save the planet, not only for the environment but also culturally through the exchange of cultures between the candidates through the contest is chosen the best delegate that can be the face of the tourism marketing campaigns, special environmental tourism at international level and presented to the public how to use environmental resources safely.

 

Miss Eco Universe is very flexible about the countries and territories that can send a representative:

            • Baskortostan – Although it belongs to Russia, it has sent candidates independently since 2016.
            • Rodrigues – Although it belongs to Mauritius, it sends candidates independently since 2016.
            • Fernando de Noronha – Although it belongs to Brazil, it sends candidates independently since 2018.
            • Tuva – Although it belongs to Russia, it sends candidates independently from 2018.

 

The Peruvian Suheyn Cipriani won the contest Miss Eco International 2019, after 14 months of reign and after covid-19 postponed version 2020, she is stripped of her title because she is pregnant. Amy Tinie Abdul Aziz from Malaysia, the 4th runner-up of Miss Eco International 2019, was designed as the successor.

PAGEANT

Delegates meet for 3 weeks in Egypt where they perform different activities, photo sessions, swimwear parades, evening suit, National costume, interviews, trips to other cities near Cairo, rehearsals and the Final of the contest.

 

The format of Miss Eco International pageant is similar to that of several contests, the semifinalists are chosen by private interview with the jury and on their behavior during the weeks before the finals.  In addition, the winner of Best Recycled Costume Awards (Miss Eco Dress) gets her direct place as semifinalists (Top 16).

 

In 2024, the organization changes some rules. « In our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and diversity, we have decided to open the eligibility criteria for participation in our competition. Moving forward, we will be accepting women of all marital statuses, including those who are married, divorced, and mothers. This decision reflects our belief in the importance of celebrating the strength and resilience of women from all walks of life.who aspire to be Eco Ambassadors. »
